The prize recruit of Michigan State's 2012 class just racked up yet another award.
Gary Harris, already named the Indiana Gatorade player of the year, was named Indiana's Mr. Basketball on Saturday night.
Harris edged Indiana-bound Yogi Ferrell for the award. Harris received 154 votes, while Ferrell had 103. Michigan commit Glenn Robinson III placed fourth with 11 votes.
Harris averaged 25.4 points, 7.6 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 3.7 assists per game at Hamilton Southeastern in Fishers, Ind, and led the team to a 22-3 record.
He also is the second Mr. Basketball winner in the 2012 class, as Matt Costello was the award winner in Michigan.
The last time Tom Izzo had two recruits in the same class win Mr. Basketball awards was in 2006, when Isaiah Dahlman (Minnesota) and Raymar Morgan (Ohio) claimed the honor as the state's top player.
Currently taking part in the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland, Harris was a participant in the McDonald's All-American game on March 28. Next week he will be in the Jordan Classic.
