Cousins, Nichol nominated for ESPY

Written by Mike W. on .

Former Michigan State football players Kirk Cousins and Keith Nichol are up for an ESPY in the "Best Play" category.

Any guesses? Yup. Rocket.

Cousins and Nichol are nominated for the famous Hail Mary play that beat Wisconsin on Oct. 22, 2011. Nichol was on the reciving end of Cousins' 44-yard, deflected Hail Mary pass.

The play already was named "Finish of the Year" by the Big Ten Network on June 18.

In case you need a refresher, here it is, again:

The "Best Play" ESPY is a bracket-style vote, revealed on the 2012 ESPY's Nomination Special presented by Capital One at 11 p.m. tonight on ESPN2, with the top 16 seeds cut down to the final eight on Tuesday. The final four will be revealed on Monday, July 9th.

Voting will remain open through the ESPYs Countdown Show and will close when the show begins at 8 p.m. on July 11th.

The 20th ESPYs are live on Wednesday, July 11th at the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

@SpartansOrDie I think it'll be tough for Rocket to win the national vote, but just to be nominated is pretty sweet!!
