Spartan Pups: Terry continues to put up big numbers

The Erie Cathedral Prep star threw for 310 yards and five touchdowns on 21-of-28 passing. He also ran for two more touchdowns, racking up 80 yards on 11 carries in the 47-7 win agaisnt Youngstown Ursuline.

The kicker? He only played four offensive plays in the second half -- but one was a 43-yard touchdown run.

He now has completed 80-of-106 passes (75.4 percent) for 1,327 yards. He has thrown 18 touchdown passes and ran for five more, while throwing just one interception.

Two of the players who likely will be on the receiving end of Terry's passes one day had solid games Friday.

Grand Rapids Christian's Drake Harris had a monster game, hauling in 10 catches for 211 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-35 win against East Grand Rapids. He now has 39 catches for 804 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Downingtown East's Jay Harris now has seven receiving touchdowns this year after catching two passes for 36 yards and a touchdown. He also ran for 47 yards on four carries and a touchdown in a 42-6 win.

R.J. Shelton had a couple of big runs for Beaver Dam in a 44-8 loss. Shelton broke out on a 79-yard touchdown run in the first half, as he racked up 143 yards on nine carries before halftime. He finished with 145 yards on 14 carries and caught three passes for 56 yards.

For the season, he has 984 yards on 119 carries and 11 touchdowns (13 total).

Gerald Holmes ran for a 37-yard touchdown in Flint Carman-Ainsworth's 50-0 win against Flint Northwestern. Holmes had just two carries for 33 yards, bringing him to a season total of 673 yards on 47 carries and 10 touchdowns.

Two players who will play defense at MSU had touchdowns on offense for their high school teams.

Solon's Darian Hicks had a 29-yard touchdown reception, while Traverse City St. Francis' Byron Bullough had a 27-yard touchdown run in a 26-7 win against Charlevoix.

Moeller linebacker Shane Jones had seven tackles in Moeller's 37-22 against LaSalle as the Crusaders bouncd back from their first loss of the season a week ago. He has 60 tackles this season.
