Flint Carman-Ainsworth is undefeated this season (5-0) and a big reason why is the rushing attack led by Michigan State commit Gerald Holmes.
Holmes broke out on two touchdown runs -- of 39 and 75 yards -- to lead C-A to a 43-0 win against Flushing. He totaled 166 yards on eight carries with the two scores.
So far this season, Holmes has ran for 640 yards on 45 carries and nine touchdowns. Carman Ainsworth is ranked third in the state in Division 1.
Holmes also had a big week off the field -- receiving an invite to try out for the United State Under-19 national team, which competes in the world championships every year. Current Spartans Chris Norman and Micajah Reynolds played in the 2009 event.
Holmes' future backfield mate R.J. Shelton continues to put up some big numbers, too.
Shelton ran for 106 yards on 16 attempts in Beaver Dam's 34-27 loss. He also had a 17-yard touchdown reception. He has 839 rushing yards on 105 carries and 12 total touchdowns (10 rushing).
Erie Cathedral Prep continued its winning ways behind quarterback Damion Terry, who now has thrown for more than 1,000 yards in just four games.
Terry completed 12-of-15 passes for 280 yards and five touchdowns as Cathedral Prep rolled over St. Francis (N.Y.) 69-0. He also had five carries for 56 yards.
He now has completed 59-of-78 passes for 1,017 yards and 13 touchdowns -- while rushing for three more.
Grand Rapids Christian wide receiver Drake Harris continued putting up big numbers like Terry.
Harris hauled in seven catches for 139 yards, including an 86-yard touchdown, in Christian's 38-21 win. Harris now has 29 catches for 593 yards and seven touchdowns.
Jay Harris also had a big game last weekend, making 12 catches for 118 yards and the game-winning 10-yard touchdown pass as time expired in Downingtown East's 35-34 win against Coatesville (high school of 2012 wide receiver Kyle Kerrick). He now has six touchdowns this year.
Shane Jones had six tackles in Cincinnati Moeller’s first loss of the season against rival St. Xavier, which still was without wide receiver Trey Kilgore, who will return to action this week.
Warren Harding safety Jalyn Powell had a 60-yard interception return in a 55-0 win. He also returned a punt for a touchdown.
Devyn Salmon, a defensive tackle from Plant City (Tampa), forced a fumble and returned it 99 yard for a touchdown. You can see a highlight of the return here.
